comments!

Thanks for the comments guys, in response:

This was created in Illustrator, and all the colors can be seperated so that they can be printed separately on the transparency, also, the wings come off so that they can be their own part or the end product. I use the pen tool a lot, so It's kind of second nature to me to create my own image based off of things i see.

And, no, as of yet it has no name. Any suggestions? I'm thinking about maybe giving it horns, perhaps adding a second part to the wing that is a little more butterfly-like, and am looking for even more parts to add without making it too crowded, I'd appreciate any suggestions on that front as well.

Thanks!

Finished??

This is where I ended up as of today, I need to print the wing separately so that they can be a separate piece on the stuffed animal this will be becoming. I also dont want to print the second leg in a different position, though it would look more natural, it would make the sewing difficult, and make the animal look lopsided. Even as is, I am going to need to print it twice, regularly, and mirror imaged so that the animal will be symmetrical when put together :)

progress

I'm still unsure as to weather I want the back legs and tail to belong to the same animal, but I am in love with the snow leopard's tail, so if I decide to change it, it will be the back legs that change. The next step is the front legs, but I am still deciding what to use. I want to use a bird, but that seems almost too close to a gryphon, and I do want to create my own creature, not simply create one that already 'exists'.

wings!

I started working on the pieces, wing first, and this is the first part. I will have to print it four times, one for each side of each of the two wings. I'm not quite sure about the color, I might try to get away with printing the whole thing in one color, or do one print in black, and then a second print on the same fabric, but slightly off in a different color. I think the wing needs more yet, but I wanted to update the blog on progress before my mind wanders and I end up doing something else completly. Looking at it now, i may change the curve of the currently flat underside. :/

Inspiration...?

The majority of my free time is spent online, in a different world. Yes, the world of Warcraft. It causes my mind to be full of things that are ultimatly unimportant in the real world, but serves for interesting art inspiration because I think differently than the average bear. For instance, the level of game speak has evolved to the point that I could say something to a non gamer and they woudl think I was speaking a different language entirely.
Omg, that DK thinks he's so 1337, but IRL he's a total nub IMO. o.O

myth? truth? Fox news?

Still a controversy, the story from awhile ago about a strange creature that washed up on the beach is either a new species, or a manipulated photo. Either way, this photo has manipulated people's belief of the real and concrete. How does one determine if something so unreal is believable enough to become an urban legend? who decided that photo of Nesse was viable? Is there even a line drawn between real and unreal, or do things float around in a big pool, the shallow end fact, but still commingling with the stuff in the deep end?
